Blantyre Community Council wants everyone to be able to use this website, regardless of technology, ability or circumstance.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2, Level AA. This is the recognised standard referenced by UK guidance for accessible public-sector websites.
What we have done
- used clear headings and a consistent reading order;
- chosen high-contrast colours and readable text sizes;
- underlined links so colour is not the only way they are identified;
- added meaningful alternative text to informative images;
- made navigation and forms usable with a keyboard;
- used plain language and avoided unnecessary visual clutter;
- designed pages to reflow on phones, tablets and larger text settings.
Current limitations
Some documents supplied by other organisations, older meeting files and external websites may not meet the same standard. We will provide an accessible alternative where reasonably possible. We do not control the accessibility of external websites.
Tell us about a problem
If anything on this site is difficult to read, navigate or understand, or if you need information in another format, email BlantyreCC@outlook.com. Please tell us which page or document caused difficulty and what format would help.
We will acknowledge accessibility requests and work to provide a practical response as soon as we can. The Community Council is run by volunteers.
Statement review
